Pele & Hi’iaka
Pele began her journey to the Big Island of Hawaii entrusted by her mother to take her baby sister with her. Her sister Hi’iaka, was born inside an egg. Pele wrapped the egg in her pau (garments) for the long journey. At long last Pele was home, and in the beautiful Ohia forest, Pele nurtured Hi’iaka until she hatched.
